Ambani scholarship for Gujarat students

By ENN, Ahmedabad: The Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation will felicitate the meritorious students of Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat with rewards and scholarships.

A total of 71 SSC and HSC district toppers from Jamnagar, Rajkot, Diu, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch, Porbandar and Junagadh will be given the merit rewards and undergraduate scholarships at a function at Rajkot on December 26.

Rajkot Municipal Commissioner D H Brahmbhatt, the chief guest of the function, will talk on 'Zero garbage living', says a Foundation release.

The Foundation annually presents the rewards and scholarships to first three meritorious students and one physically challenged student securing highest marks from each of the districts of Gujarat and the Union territory of Daman, Du and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Since 1996, 3194 rewards and 3322 scholarships have been conferred under the scheme in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman, Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Of the 3322 undergraduate scholars, 983 opted for medicine and 1388 for engineering.

The SSC merit reward consists of Rs 6,000 and a certificate from the trustees of the foundation, while scholarship under the scheme for HSC students range between Rs 9,750 and Rs 31,500 per annum for the entire duration of study leading to degree or diploma.
