Pravinbhai Nayak is BJP candidate for Rajyasabha seat in Gujarat

By ENN, Ahmedabad, Shri Pravinbhai Nayak is BJP's candidate for one seat of Rajya Sabha in Gujarat. The election for one vacant seat of Rajya Sabha is scheduled to be held on 25th of this month. The seat was earlier occupied by late Shri Suryakant Acharya of BJP.

Pravinbhai Nayak was President of Surat city unit of BJP. His name was discussed as BJP's Surat Lok Sabha candidate last year but in the final stage he was denied ticket and Darshna Jardosh contested the election instead of Nayak. Recently when BJP declared Lok Sabha seat wise representatives, Pravin Nayak's name came as party representative of Surat seat.

The announcement of Nayak's name has made many aspiring BJP leaders upset. The term of this Rajya Sabha seat is about 15 months only. Nayak will file nomination on or before Monday as that is the last day to do so.
