2-day 5th international seminar on wheat on Feb 19
By ENN, Ahmedabad: A two-day 5th international seminar on 'Wheat and Wheat Products: Towards Millennium Goals' will be organised here from February 19 to deliberate on how to bridge a widening demand-supply mismatch in the global and domestic markets.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Trilok Agrawal, Secretary of Gujarat Roller Flour Millers' Association (GRFMA) and Ramavtar Agrawal, Ex-President of GRFMA said, ''The subjects to be discussed during the seminar, include overview of global and Indian wheat production, consumption and trade; wheat management and logistics; pricing, risk management and tariffs; food and nutrition security.'' Over 350 delegates, including government officials, corporate houses both domestic and multinational, flour millers, bakers, trading and export houses, service providers, researchers and other stakeholders from across the country will take part in the event and share their views.
Besides them, the members of Wheat Boards of countries like USA, UK, Canada, France, Australia will be participating in it, the duo further said.
Gujarat Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Narotam Patel will inaugurate the seminar, while Prof K V Thomas, Union Minister of State for Agriculture, will give the valedictory address.
